i just got gentoo installed finally (using pppoe) and now i have some easy questions for everyone
1. i get an error in loading my filesystems at boot but i cant read the error fast enough before it scrolls off the screen and is gone. I tried to hit `I` to enter an interactive boot but it doesnt let me - HOW CAN I READ WHAT MY ERROR IS?
2. HOW DO I SHUTDOWN GENTOO? - i tried shutdown -h now and my machine shuts down but my monitor is still on. i tried init 0 and i forget what happened but it was not a full shutdown either. "reboot" works fine but i want the shutdown equivalent!
hopefully this gives some newbie a chance to help another total newbie
thanks!
