|
|
I've been bringing one of my systems up to date and wonder if this is a bug in portage.
Steps Scenario: | Code: | # emerge -uND @world
# emerge @preserved-rebuild
# emerge -pv --depclean
# emerge --depclean |
At the end of --depclean steps, there were two items of note:- python-3.1.3-r1 was to be removed
- There were a bunch of new messages to run emerge @preserved-rebuild.
When I looked at the installed python slots, I realized I had versions 2.7.x, 3.1.x and 3.2. I figured it was therefore safe to permit --depclean to remove python 3.1.3-r1.
However, the new "emerge @preserved-rebuild" failed on numpy-1.6.0: | Code: | * Messages for package dev-python/numpy-1.6.0:
* ERROR: dev-python/numpy-1.6.0 failed (setup phase):
* dev-lang/python:3.1 is not installed |
I re-installed python-3.1.3-r1 and the "emerge @preserved-rebuild" went through to completion.
So the question I have is whether there is a bug here which needs to be reported or not. If so, what should I say?
i.e. Should --depclean not have selected python-3.1.3-r1 for removal? Or perhaps numpy-1.6.0 needs it's dependencies checked?
I'm currently running portage-2.2.0-alpha40. _________________ People whom think M$ is mediocre, don't know the half of it. |
