grub odd bugs & filesystems

heres wwhat i ran into during limited testing

1. fs=xfs system will drop me into grub & you have to boot manually
from thereon

2./boot = ext2 /=reiserfs grub starts up with a purple background
& boots normally

3.fs=reiserfs grubs starts up in black & white but boots normally

in all cases there were 3 partitions /boot / & swap
also in all 3 cases /boot was never mounted after booting up eveing though the entry exists in fstab

resierfs seemed the quickest of the lot, xfs seemed unstable
...i actually corrupted a file while editing with vi

all installs were done using the install guide

if anyone has had similar experiences please post them here
