Cups + Epson EPL 6100L

Hey guys,
so I've been trying to get my Epson EPL 6100-L working for hours now, and nothing works yet.
First, I understood that I had to fetch a ppd file from an home-brewed Epson drivers (http://epsonepl.sourceforge.net).
Then I tried and added a new printer in Cups, provided the Epson-EPL-6100L-epl6100l-cups.ppd file, but that would bring an error : line too long, 255 characters.
Some forums told me to remove any extra space in the ppd file to have it under 255 characters but this is not realistic, the file is over 600 lines long.
Now, the funny thing was that the printer had been added anyway, but printing would not work.
any clue?
