|
|
Hi all,
I noticed this some time ago, but assumed it was a problem limited to a certain set of videos. Unfortunately, it seems like a bug or some problematic setting.
The problem is that, when I watch an .mkv video with subtitles, things do not quite work right. First, when starting the video I see something like:
| Quote: | Title of series
Dialogue:
0,0:00:03.54,0:00:08.13,Title2,,0000,0000,0000,,He
|
and a word below it.
In my console it says a word is too long or some such thing.
Then when the video plays, subtitles stay around past their time. In short, there would be some bit of dialogue with subtitles and after the dialogue the subtitle just stays there until the next bit of dialogue, even if there is a long silence.
I've not seen this problem with other formats, so I am wondering whether folks knew what might be happening and how to fix it.
Best,
Alex

Hi all,
Quick update. The problem does not appear to crop up if I use gnome-mplayer. Any idea on how to get this correct behavior to work with mplayer? There's no difference in the config files, etc.
Best,
Alex |

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and I get the same error when I'm playing certain anime files. These files worked fine before.
Now strange text and parts of the subs get stuck on the screen. The console writes stuff like this:
| Quote: | [matroska @ 0xac7c40]Invalid stream 4 or size 3
Too many subtitle lines-0.000 ct: -0.000 0/ 0 26% 2% 3.2% 0 0
Subtitle word ',0000,0000,,p' too long!
Subtitle word '000,0000,,p' too long!
A: 169.8 V: 169.8 A-V: -0.000 ct: 0.146 0/ 0 38% 2% 4.0% 2 0
Subtitle word '0,,Hattori Hanzo' too long!
|
My next plan is to make sure all the right fonts are installed. |

Hi,
I solved the problem on my machine yet had forgotten I even posted this. Hopefully this trick works for you, too. Simply go into the .mplayer/config file and make sure there is a line there that reads:

Alex

Hi, i had the same problem, however, embeddedfonts=true did not solve the problem. Instead, i used the option
and it solved the problem for me.
Greetings, Mikkl |
