I don't know the details, but I'm betting you can do something in .Xdefaults to open it at a desired window size.
Using your WM or DE might be a better idea, though. What WM/DE do you use? In Fluxbox, for example, you can open a program, set the window position and size, and by right-clicking on the top window bar, you can tell Fluxbox to remember position, size and other stuff. _________________ Gentoo Studio: http://gentoostudio.org

Sounds like something if bjorked in Fluxbox. Try moving your .fluxbox dir to .fluxbox_bak (or something similar) and logging in again. You'll start with a default Fluxbox setup. See if that helps.
Note: if you just delete .fluxbox, you'll lose your menu settings. If you just back it up, you'll be able to copy menu settings and other things over - if you want. _________________ Gentoo Studio: http://gentoostudio.org
