Hello colleagues ;],

I updated VLC but now I have problem to play any videos. If I try to run some video I see this error message:
Code:

vlc does not support the audio or video format mp4v. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.

I have used this USE flags for VLC and FFMPEG:
Code:

VLC
X a52 aac alsa dbus directfb dts dvd elibc_glibc ffmpeg flac gcrypt id3tag kde live mmx mp3 mpeg musepack ncurses nsplugin opengl qt4 rtsp skins sse stream svg theora truetype win32codecs x264 xcb xosd xv -aalib -altivec -atmo -avahi -bidi -cdda -cddb -dc1394 -debug -dirac -dvb -fbcon -fluidsynth -fontconfig -ggi -gme -gnome -gnutls -httpd -ieee1394 -jack -kate -libass -libcaca -libnotify -libproxy -libtiger -libv4l -libv4l2 -lirc -lua -matroska -modplug -mtp -ogg -optimisememory -oss -png -projectm -pulseaudio -pvr -remoteosd -run-as-root -samba -schroedinger -sdl -sdl-image -shine -shout -speex -sqlite -svga -taglib -twolame -udev -upnp -v4l -v4l2 -vaapi -vcdx -vlm -vorbis -wma-fixed -xml -zvbi)

FFMPEG:
3dnow 3dnowext X alsa bzip2 encode faac hardcoded-tables mmx mmxext mp3 sdl ssse3 threads vorbis x264 xvid zlib -altivec -amr -bindist -cpudetection -custom-cflags -debug -dirac -doc -frei0r -gsm -ieee1394 -jack -jpeg2k -network -oss -pic -qt-faststart -rtmp -schroedinger -speex -static-libs -test -theora -v4l -v4l2 -vaapi -vdpau -video_cards_nvidia -vpx

Next I tried this command - vlc --reset-plugins-cache --reset-config - but it didn't help.

Could some smart head advice to me what I have bad? :]

Thx,

waldauf

Code:
f00l@beedge~ $ emerge -s mp4
Searching...
[ Results for search key : mp4 ]
[ Applications found : 1 ]

*  media-libs/libmp4v2
      Latest version available: 1.9.1
      Latest version installed: 1.9.1
      Size of files: 422 kB
      Homepage:      http://code.google.com/p/mp4v2
Description:   Functions for accessing ISO-IEC:14496-1:2001 MPEG-4 standard
      License:       MPL-1.1

in vlc -> extras -> plugins&exts you can search for and find it (after it's installed).
GOOD LUCK!

I checked if I have this library installed and I had. I recompiled VLC many times but it didn't work. Sow yesterday I recompiled media-libs/libmp4v2 too and VLC again and now it works. I don't know where was problem because I use revdep-rebuild which didn't help. So important thing is that now it is working alright :].

Thx for your help DawgG ;].
