I tend to compile the latest kernel.
I know it may break some Gentoo stuff.
sys-power/nut broke because I didn't compile ipv6 into the kernel but nut compiled with ipv6.
I got very good help on the nut mailing list but I propose an ipv6 USE flag.
The fix is to add 'LISTEN 127.0.0.1' to 'upsd.conf'. _________________ AMD FX6100 CPU, 16 GiB RAM, OCZ Vertex 3 SSD

Emerge ufed.
Then run it in a terminal.
On my desktop profile it is enabled.

The same disk can be used for 32 and 64 bit installs.
You can follow the Handbook verbatim.
