does anyone know about a software which provides easily:

- getting Hard-drive Informations like ( SMART, mount-count, product name...)
- checking the partitions for errors
- setting the drive into suspend mode
- testing the read/write speed

in other words, a GUI for hdparm, fsck, bonnie++ and many more, included in one program?

He means that in the *nix world, tools are typically only designed to do one thing well, rather than do a whole bunch of things not-as-well.

gsmartcontrol is a good GUI for smartmontools, most other things can be done with gparted I guess. I am not a master of GUIs so I am not completely sure.
