It seems to have been resolved a while back. This is all that's currently left: https://bugs.gentoo.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=346809&hide_resolved=1

4.6.2 released a few days ago, works by renaming the 4.6.1-r1 ebuild and tar.bz2 files accordingly.

Code:
3468736 30. Okt 17:04 kernel-3.0.8-gcc453
3457360 30. Okt 17:30 kernel-3.0.8-gcc462

genstorm,
Sorry to be so dense, but I'm not sure I understand this. :?

Do you mean just rename the ebuild, and download the gcc-4.6.2.tar.bz2 source direct from a gcc mirror?

I looked in the 4.6.1-r1 ebuild, and it doesn't refer to any tar.bz2 version I can change, or url for the souirce file, so how is it going to download the 4.6.2 version? I'm assuming you can't mean simply rename the 4.6.1.tar.bz2 source. Is that correct, or am I missing something? I've been running 4.6.1 on 4 Gentoo installs, so I'd like to move to 4.6.2.

I'm also not sure what that code you posted is exactly, or how you arrived at it. Never seen anything like that before. :o

Just a kernel test build. ^^

Well, there are several tar.bz2 files that get downloaded with each gcc ebuild:

/usr/portage/distfiles/gcc-4.6.2-patches-1.0.tar.bz2
/usr/portage/distfiles/gcc-4.6.2-piepatches-v0.4.5.tar.bz2
/usr/portage/distfiles/gcc-4.6.2-uclibc-patches-1.0.tar.bz2

Simply get those (as 4.6.1 versions) and rename to 4.6.2.

the gcc-4.6.2.tar.bz2 will of course get downloaded when manifesting the ebuild.

ANYWAY, as the bug was marked FIXED just now, the 4.6.2.ebuild should soon be coming to a portage tree near you. :)

I hope i'm right when i ask here in this thread.

I need make_shared and i read that i could only use it with gcc 4.6.1 .
The Problem is, that I unmasking it in /etc/portage/package.unmask also the entry in /etc/portage/package.keywords doesn't help. :(

Can someone help me? :(

If i should open a new thread for this i will, but i thought that it could be better to ask here

PS: sorry for my bad english ;)

What does portage say when you do "emerge -pv gcc:4.6"?

By the way, here's what I have in my package.keywords:
Code:
=sys-devel/gcc-4.6*     **

And here's what's in my package.unmask:
Code:
sys-devel/gcc:4.6
