|
|
hello
this is my first post here.
I would like please if you could help me to create a reverse zone for the ip
200.13.157.242/29 since it is a classless ip, i know that my isp must create a ptr for this but i can access my isp's dns and i would like to create myself the reverse zone.
can you please help me how would be the format for that ip?
and how would i configure in my public dns (200.13.157.242), this is to make work my MX record.
sorry for my english, if you could help me please i would appreciate it very much.
when i check my domain in intodns.com
this is what i get in errors:
Reverse MX A records (PTR) ERROR: No reverse DNS (PTR) entries.
The problem MX records are:
242.157.13.200.in-addr.arpa -> no reverse (PTR) detected
You should contact your ISP and ask him to add a PTR record for your ips
THANK YOu
btw. i use bind 9 |

ormg770, you should ask your ISP to setup reverse DNS info (PTR entries) for the 200.13.157.242/29 range. That would be the easiest way to solve your DNS problems.
You may still setup PTR entries on your own DNS server. But you should ask your ISP to delegate 200.13.157.242/29 resolution to your DNS server. If not, nobody would actually query your server for 242.157.13.200.in-addr.arpa info. In other words, your zone would be "isolated" from the public DNS space.
Anyway, you should contact your ISP and see what happens. _________________ Javier Miqueleiz
