Hi,
I have a query regarding the USE flags. Let's say I use KDE, so I would not need to use GTK. Therefore, I have -gtk in my USE flags. However, I still want to use GIMP, or Firefox. What happens in that case ? It seems emerge installs gtk anyway (fair enough) but will the -gtk flag lead to problems in the future ? Or can I leave it this way (If I remove it, I would have to rebuild a fair deal of packages) ?
Thanks in advance for your advice. |

You can leave it that way (at -gtk). Portage will automatically pull in gtk if it requires. In case portage explicitly requires a package to be re-emerged with +gtk USE flag, it will tell you so. In that instance, you can add that package name to /etc/portage/package.use. _________________ emerge --quiet redefined | E17 vids: I, II | Now using kde5 | e is unstable :-/ |
