firefox can not download adobe-flash. alway FAIL. and i find there is a www-plugins/adobe-flash in portage (in my /usr/portage/www-plugins/adobe-flash), so i try this following emerge .. and get the same masked package problem, which i am trying to fix this afternoon.

# emerge www-plugins/adobe-flash
Calculating dependencies... done!

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "www-plugins/adobe-flash" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.2.161.23_pre20100927 (masked by: AdobeFlash-10.1 license(s), ~x86 keyword)
A copy of the 'AdobeFlash-10.1' license is located at '/usr/portage/licenses/AdobeFlash-10.1'.

- www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.1.85.3 (masked by: AdobeFlash-10.1 license(s))
- www-plugins/adobe-flash-9.0.283.0 (masked by: AdobeFlash-9.0.31.0 license(s), ~x86 keyword)
A copy of the 'AdobeFlash-9.0.31.0' license is located at '/usr/portage/licenses/AdobeFlash-9.0.31.0'.

------

because i am a new gentoo user. so i am trying to use layman, and i have done all these steps according to http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/userguide.xml (Gentoo Overlays: Users' Guide),

and my layman version is 1.3.3 so i install all of these in /var/lib/layman

still i can not emerge packages from gentoo-china. although i have done this command : laymen -f -a gentoo-china

Please help me, and tell me what can i do? Thanks

you have to add the license file:

echo "www-plugins/adobe-flash AdobeFlash-10.1" >> /etc/portage/package.license

If you're running 64 bit then after emergeing flash you'll have to emerge nspluginwrapper.
Gerard.

@Gerard

There is no need to install nspluginwrapper (on 64bit installations), since recently Adobe has released the new 64bit native plugin for Linux (code named "Square").
This release is already in portage (in testing branch, so you have to unmask it); see this thread for reference

Just installed the masked adobe-flash 10.2.161.23_pre20100927, then removed nspluginwrapper. It seems to work fine on amd64, and makes me feel like my box isn't a 486 anymore.

Just in case anyone was wondering or on the borderline, I vote yes.
