Problem setting language in gtkaps since using gcc 3.1

Hi there,

my problem:

Since I've recompiled my hole system (no it's 1.3b), I'm not able to change the language of gimp and other gtk-aps. With my last installation I did an export LANG="de_DE" and I got gimp in german. Since the recompilation it doesn't work anymore - gimp stays english. Any ideas? Is that a gcc3 related problem or do some extra packages have to be present which I might have not installed jet?

what (error) message do you get? Is it something like locale de_DE@euro not supported? Then, you might have a problem with glibc.. but I'm not sure

I don't get any errors, gimp org gft or what ever just starts in english.

I have got "nls" in my USE-Variabel. Does it have do be "-nls" (that meens deactivating nls).

Actually I'm compiling gnome. May be under gnome gimp starts in germen.
