Weird.
I'll check mine real quick. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

Everything works fine here. Launching a mod from terminal launches the modded version of the game, not the base game. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

No idea... I would try to just re-emerge one of the mods and try again.

I got it working. I had to unmerge doom3 and all mods, delete all locations of doom3, which included /opt/doom3, /usr/local/games/doom3 and /usr/share/games/doom3, and delete ~/.doom3, then re-emerge doom3.
I think the mess came from manually installing doom3. When I fixed the mouse problem, I no longer needed to do this, so the purge was a good thing.
Now I want the CC mod to work, but I think the version in Portage is too new. The CC mod worked with an older version. It's not a big deal, because I've already played it with the CC mod, and I can still run it through Wine to use the CC mod, but it'd be nice to have it native. _________________ decibel Linux: https://decibellinux.org

CC as in, closed caption? I never tried to play with that one.
My favourite mod is classic doom (doom3-cdoom) If you haven't tried it yet, emerge it now _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

Aye, I enjoy Quake 4 as well.
I have the following "native Linux" games installed :
Doom 3, Doom 3 RoE, Quake 4, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Enemy Territories : Quake Wars, Prey, and Descent 3.
Beyond those I mostly play Blizzard games via Wine. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker
