Installation on a G3 iBook [solved]

Looking to install gentoo on an old G3 Apple iBook. Booting the 2008.0 PPC disk, the only kernel available for boot is a G5 kernel.... I'm assuming this won't work, will it?

I'm getting:

To continue booting, type mac-boot and press return



What is wrong, here? Where should I go from here?

EDIT: looks like typing ppc32 on boot, fixed the problem. The G5 kernel was being loaded by default
