Looking to install gentoo on an old G3 Apple iBook. Booting the 2008.0 PPC disk, the only kernel available for boot is a G5 kernel.... I'm assuming this won't work, will it?
I'm getting:
invalid memory access at %SRR0: 01407400 %SRR1 00083030
MAC-PARTS: specified partition is not valid
MAC-PARTS: specified partition is not valid can't OPEN: /pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/ata-4@1f000/disk@1:2 .....foobar foobar
To continue booting, type mac-boot and press return
What is wrong, here? Where should I go from here?
EDIT: looks like typing ppc32 on boot, fixed the problem. The G5 kernel was being loaded by default |
