I build a Gentoo 1.3 / Gnome2 Desktop with the default USE settings.
Graphics apps like eog and gthumb failed to show TIFF images.
So I checked and figured out that gtk-2.0.5 was build without tiff support.
I added tiff to the USE and rebuild gtk and now the apps work fine.
Maybe enabeling TIFF by default is a good idea?
