Hi. Does anyone know what I need to install to sync the contacts on my Android HTC Hero phone with my Gentoo PC? When I plug in the usb cord, an "HTC Sync" option pops up, but selecting it does nothing on the Linux PC. I run a gnome desktop. I use Thunderbird, but syncing with a particular contacts manager isn't as important to me as having a backup of the contact info. |

If your contacts are Google contacts, then they will be enshrined forever in Google's storage anyway. You can then sync to Evolution with gcaldaemon. |

I second that. I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 with windows on it and I just use google sync for my contacts, mail, and calendar.
BTW if anyone that reads this has a TP2, immediately unlock it, install the stable Energy ROM with titanium interface only, no HTC touchflo, its the only way to make this phone usable. _________________ "There's no problem so large it can't be solved by killing the user off, deleting their files, closing their account and reporting their REAL earnings to the IRS" |
