|
|
Hi Everyone,
I'm having a minor, but frustrating problem with my CD-RW. I can't get it to eject by clicking on "Eject" item in the context (right mouse button) menu for the CD desktop object. The device otherwise works just fine, opens when I double-click on the desktop object, unmounts from the menu and otherwise behaves very well. The eject button on the device works, so I'm pretty sure this is a software issue -- or more to the point: An issue with the way I installed and configured the software.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

I found the ejecting stops working as soon as a device is driven by the ide-scsi module. Mine will not open through that command either.
I ' m looking into it. I'll post when I know. |

This is a pure SCSI HP9200 attached to an Adaptec 29160N. Eject (from the menu) previously worked in KDE under both RH7.x and Mandrake 8.x on this machine so I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing wrong. Just some configuration parameter I missed.
I appreciate your feedback.

I noticed that when I moved from KDE 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 (I think), eject in the context menu no longer worked. I use ide-scsi emulation. Is it a 3.0.2 bug?

I'm still on 3.0.1, so if it is a KDE problem, it can't be 3.0.2 bug.
I still think it's just something I missed.

OK, Got the answer in a post that appeared today in another thread.
Try emerge eject and then eject and eject -t.
Thanks to fghellar for the answer. Worked like a charm for me.
Wish I knew how to do that linking to another thread thing. It's CD/DVD Tray won['t] eject in the All Things Gentoo forum.
