Just ordered myself a core i3, but does it support IA64? And even if it does, is it preferable over AMD64? Looking at packages.gentoo.org, it seems a lot of ebuilds arent available for IA64...

AMD64.

IA64 is for ithanium processors, which are not x86-based.

Thanks guys. I just read it used the Intel 64 architecture and assumed that meant IA64, but I'll stick with AMD64 then. How about the on-chip AES instruction set? Do I enable that with a USE flag?

Actually I just read that intel disabled AES instructions in the i3 to make you buy the i5 instead :( ah well...
