|
|
Background:
I gave been dealing with a Dell Latitude D600 that has had sticky mouse buttons in Linux for a while. (Untested in Windows.) Both the Motherboard and trackpad portions have been replaced. It even exhibits the same behavior with an external mouse. Same problem with different Linux distros too.
Steps to reproduce:
More or less, what happens is every once in a while when clicking, a button will stay depressed until the mouse is moved or another click is done. Moving the mouse is the most reliable way to get the button to "unclick".
So, is there a way to change the click threshold that would fix this? Or is this a internal hardware problem with no way around it? Unfortunately with the way that Gnome has been going and the placement of mouse/trackpad configuration skipping around with xorg, I don't know how to fix this. ATM the machine is running Fedora. Previously it was Ubuntu and for a while Gentoo. |

pizzach,
Does it miss as many mouse down events as mouse up events?
Run xev and look at the events that Xorg gets.
Are they missing or is Xorg failing to act on them.
Is the external mouse USB or PS/2?
What drivers are your using in the kernel and in xorg ?
With what version of Xorg?
Is it any better with a liveCD/DVD ?
As its not gentoo, moving to Unsupported Software. _________________ Regards,

I have a similar problem. I've noticed this behaviour only under QT widget...until now. Gtk looked fine... _________________ Fujitsu Siemens Amilo La 1703 |
