hda swapped with hdc: B&W G3:

Booting the installer live CD (install-powerpc-minimal-20091018) detects my harddrive as hdc;
( as it should, it's on secondary master; CD drive is primary master )

Booting the *compiled* kernel detects hard drive as hda - kernel panic cannot mount root fs, no-good.

Checked livecd config (what i think are relevant configs) & set mine the same.

Any one else run into this?

This is with cmd64x pata driver compiled into kernel -

without compiling-in cmd64x, CD drive is hda again but, HD is never detected...

You want to use SATA/PATA drivers. This will give you hard drive as sda. IDE drivers are depreciated.
