yes gentoo should install - the main thing with the nforce is that you HAVE to use the nvidia drivers - there are no open-source or kernel drivers available.
I have two nforce systems, and it is a bit of a pain - but it is workable. I much prefer via chipsets because there is kernel level support.
but as we are aware the nforce2 is suppossed to blow the kt400 out of the water.. but that may be negated by the lack of good linux drivers on nvidia's part, tho nvidia is generally pretty good on that side.. so it's up to you.
in answer to your question yes it should work with gentoo, but you'll prob need nvidia drivers to get your sound and nic working. |
