application/x-director plugin??

On trying to view a web page, i'm told I need to install a plugin application/x-director plugin. How do I install this plugin for mozilla firefox? I am on an amd64x2 machine.

You can't, there is no Linux version of the Adobe Shockwave Player. It may be possible using wine, but I'm not sure.

Any particular reason why there's no linux port of the shockwave plugin?
