Hello getting this error on trying an update
Code: |
emerge -uDNp world
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "~x11-libs/qt-dbus-4.5.1".
(dependency required by "x11-libs/qt-4.5.1" [installed])
(dependency required by "world" [argument])
hamlet michael # emerge -av qt
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "x11-libs/qt" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- x11-libs/qt-4.6.2 (masked by: package.mask)
/usr/portage/profiles/package.mask:
# Ben de Groot <yngwin@gentoo.org> (25 Jun 2009)
# Mask the Qt4 meta ebuild, to prevent devs from being silly and depend on
# the meta ebuild instead of on the specific split Qt ebuilds needed. See
# bug 217161 comment 11. Users may unmask this if they want to pull in all
# Qt modules, but packages in portage (or overlays) will pull in the split
# modules they need as dependency. Unmasking this will most likely pull in
# more than you need. This meta ebuild will be removed when we can add sets

| There should be no qt3 qt USE flags in make.conf.
Only qt3support qt4
Do you need to sync ? Code: | x11-libs/qt-dbus
Available versions: (4) 4.5.3-r1 ~4.6.1 4.6.2 |
I have these installed on my stable box: Code: | ~ # qlist -Iv x11-libs/qt
x11-libs/qt-core-4.6.2-r1
x11-libs/qt-dbus-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-gui-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-opengl-4.6.2

Thanks for reply.
I had
Code: |
qlist -Iv x11-libs/qt
x11-libs/qt-3.3.8b-r2
x11-libs/qt-4.5.1
x11-libs/qt-core-4.6.2-r1
x11-libs/qt-dbus-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-gui-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-opengl-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-qt3support-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-script-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-sql-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-svg-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-test-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-webkit-4.6.2
x11-libs/qt-xmlpatterns-4.6.2
x11-libs/qtscriptgenerator-0.1.0
|
I have removed first two and got qt3 dependency for pdfedit, twinkle which no longer has an ebuilds, removed these.
I now have kde basket that requires qt3 and this app i need, there is kde4 version but it in beta and no ebuild for it yet.
How can get around this and find any other qt dependant apps?

There is no ebuild for basket either.
There appears to be a new beta version for qt4 and KDE4 here.
Maybe that would fill in the gap until there is an ebuild in portage? |

There is an ebuild for basket in kde-sunset, kde 3.5 overlay.
Yes found that ebuild but am having issue with adding overlay, see other post.

ok seems that kde version of basket requires kde 4.4 which masked and don't fancy unmasking it yet. _________________ Work Station - 64bit

I just installed the basket 2.0 beta. I had already unmasked and installed KDE-4.4, which I needed to be able to use multiple desktops. That wasn't too painful, and the Basket installer works OK. Now I have Basket running again, which ends one of the biggest disappointments of moving to KDE4 - losing Basket. Now if somebody and resurrect QCad... |
