OBP Question

Greetings!

I have a quick question regarding OBP... I have perused these forums for quite some time and I noticed that one of the biggest limitations to getting *most* standard PCI(legacy) VGA cards working with a lot of Sun hardware is the fact that the OBP will not initialize them correctly (or even recognize them for that matter). Having said this, would it not be possible to hack the OBP to add support for these cards and initialize/recognize them at boot time? I see that Sun released the source code for OpenBOOT here.

Are there any technical limitations to doing this? If not, is anybody working on this already? Thanks in advance for your input!
