I think we should have a forum for/about gentoo user-mode-linux.
1) Because searching for UML is kind of a pain... you have to search for "uml" or "usermode" or "user-mode-linux"
2) Because I'm not really sure where UML questions should go.
3) Because it would be an easy way to supplement the UML documentation that we already have here.

Good idea / bad idea?

:D

While I do not think there is currently enough support for a separate forum on this topic, I'm certainly not opposed to creating one if it seems that there are enough people interested in this.

Searching for things is a pain period. It would help if the phpBB search engine was more sophistocated. However, with a little time spent learning how to search, I have generally been able to find whatever it is that I needed to find. (see FO3 and FO4)

Other Things Gentoo seems like a good place for generic UML questions.

Actually, it would probably further fragment the documentation that we already have here unless some very industrious people were to find all the current UML threads and point them out so that they could be moved into the new forum.

UML is mostly intended to solve potential security issues in some cases. Why not "host" all UML threads in "Network and Security"?

The search is capable of boolean, so it's just:

Code:
uml OR usermode OR user-mode-linux

Which makes a change as most people would need to use AND... :D

Information about UML is placed all over the forums... It doesn't fit that well into any og the other forums...
