Sometimes I want to have an ebuild from an overlay, mostly sunrise, and I'm okay with fetching it myself. But for some packages, there are a lot of files required(patches, ...) and downloading them all by hand is annoying. On the other hand, I don't want to use layman to get the full overlay since I'm not using very much of it. So please, enable tarballs/zips/etc in trac, thank you.

I second this, I much prefer to add packages to my own local overlay like this rather than adding an entire overlay via layman.

However, is this functionality not already there?

It definitely is on the hardened development overlay, you just need to browse the "tree" view...

edit: typos and other silliness

This is indeed possible in our git overlays, just not in our subversion overlays. Subversion is outdated technology anyway, so the better request would be to move those overlays to git.

Thanks @yngwin, though a little stupid that I seem to merge layman for this and a list isn't(?) available online somewhere.

Where do you think layman gets its information from?
