I have the same problem w/glib-2.22.5 too.

I have tried commenting out the LDFLAGS line and changing MAKEOPTS to -j1 in make.conf, same error occurs.

Did you try emerging lafilefixer and running "lafilefixer --justfixit"

ive hit this on older systemrescuecd builds before

as soon as you do your chroot, type the following:

Code:

export path=

literally, with nothing after the =
that should sort it.

...or you can run:
Code:
PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin

go ahead and post echo $PATH anyway - just out of curiosity.

Thanks All!!! export path= worked.
Code:

echo $PATH
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/opt/bin:/usr/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/4.4.3

I'm using the most recent version of system rescue. 1.5.1. How did you all know about this fix? I searched for hours and never found it.

It's mainly a question of knowing what in that error output is most relevant

in this case

Quote:

usr/bin: file not recognized: Is a directory

put that in quotes on google, should give you this as first link

http://www.sysresccd.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2724

a bit different from my suggestion, i remember struggling as you did way back then - eventually you get to where you can better pluck out which errors are relevant when a build fails. No magic involved, you just sorta absorb it.

Thanks for the reply. I've been with gentoo since 2004 and still learn nuggets of new information everyday. I wish I could reach the end of this road sometime soon.

The really great part about it is that the road has no end. Going down it is the fun part. :D

Hi, I am having the same problem with glib-2.22.4.
The emerge fails even whith
Code:
CFLAGS="-march=native -pipe -O1" CXXFLAGS="{$CFLAGS}" emerge glib

or
Code:
PATH="/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin" emerge glib

I tried
Code:
lafilefixe --justfixit

Code:

I noticed the "Segmentation fault" but could'nt find anything helpfull when googling that.

It is a fresh install I did this morning, glib-2.22.4 is asked when I try to emerge xorg-server.

If anyone has a suggestion...
Thanks.

your issue is a completely different one, albeit with the same package. would suggest you make a new thread as what's been posted here will not be relevant to you, and people dont look at threads marked as [solved] too often.
