|
Hi,
I have a laptop which I connect to the router by cable but I want to free it by adding a wifi connection.
The problem I have is that I have to set some ports in the NAT of the router, this requires specifying the IP. This would seem to imply that I need to set wlan0 to the same IP and take one or the other up/down according to availability.
Can anyone suggest a good way to handle this?
TIA, Gentree. _________________ Linux, because I'd rather own a free OS than steal one that's not worth paying for.

Quote: | mode=1 (active-backup)
Active-backup policy: Only one slave in the bond is active. A different slave becomes active if, and only if, the active slave fails. The bond's MAC address is externally visible on only one port (network adapter) to avoid confusing the switch. This mode provides fault tolerance. The primary option affects the behavior of this mode. |
Yes this looks like it will fit the bill , I'll give it a try.
Many thanks. _________________ Linux, because I'd rather own a free OS than steal one that's not worth paying for.
