I was at a meeting of my university's Linux User's Group last friday and we were discussing things we would be doing during the rest of the semester. They have a server with mirrors for Ubuntu and a bunch of obscure distributions, but Gentoo is not included, so I proposed that it be added to it and they said that they could do that.
I am not sure exactly what the specs/bandwidth of the server is, but it is on the university's bandwidth, so to the outside world, it is probably the equivalent of the servers currently in Gentoo's network of mirrors. I am wondering, roughly what will need to be done to make it mirror Gentoo in addition to the stuff it is already mirroring (e.g. Ubuntu)? |
