Ok I have installed Gentoo on other boxen no problem. I have the system at bootstrapping has completed. When I emerge system I get the following error
| Code: | checking for integral type equal to pointer size....configure:error can not run test program while cross compiling.
!!!Error The ebuild did not complete successfully
!!!Function src_compile, line 1 exitcode 1 no error message
!!!emerge aborting on /usr/portage/sys-libs/db/db-3.2.9.ebuild . |
System:
AMD Athlon 1000Mhz
768 MB Sdram
ASUS A7V133 Mobo
2 Maxtor HD's attached to the Promise Onboard Controller
USB Intellimouse
Any ideas?

Got it fixed. I did emerge --clean rsync and bootstrapped again. After that emerge system worked with no errors. Compiling X now
