Does anyone have a xwindows environment for the imac g5 rev A (with the nvidia 5200 video card)?
I currently have gentoo installed with yaboot but cannot configure the xorg.conf file correctly. Once I try to start a session with the default xorg.conf file the screen just goes black and I cannot get out of it. However, I can still ssh into the machine when it hangs up like this. I was using the fbdev video driver. I also tried the nv driver and got some errors as well.

This is expected behavior if you are not running any apps on X server, normally one should start a WM on X server. See stickies on Desktop forum. |

| I just copied over some of the hal's and enabled the ctrl alt bksp to get out of the black screen. I obviously did not know what I was doing, but I've got the minimal x windows environment working now. Thanks! |
