Hello there, Audio in my sistem works fine through pulseaudio, I can even have audio/video conversations with empathy. However, when trying directly with alsa:
Code:
aplay /usr/share/sounds/warning.wav
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1010:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
aplay: main:608: audio open error: Device or resource busy

playing as root works fine. /dev{adsp,audio*,dsp*,mixer*,sequencer*} are root:audio and mod 660. My user belongs to the audio group.

I noticed this problem when the flash plugin is mute. It tries to access the card directly and ALSA has this problem. I'm sure this must be something quite simple that people here would recognize immediately, but I'm dumb today I guess.

Thanks,

R.

Most (if not all) of the devices, you've listed are OSS, not alsa.

Do you have /etc/asound.conf or a simmilar file in ${HOME} ?

For some strange reason, remerging adobe-flash solved the issue.
