Freeciv-1.13.0 Stable
Anyone play Freeciv? I'm curious to hear opinions of the game on its own merit (not compared to the original). _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

I think that with "civ" in the name, comparisons with the original are unavoidable.
But yeah, I'd say that it's an excellent game in its own right. It's evolved beyond Civ I and II, whilst providing the "feel" of both those games for all us devoted fans.
I especially love the way its been ported to so many different platforms (I can play against my Windows friends!) and that it has so many different interfaces to choose from (though GTK is always my favourite).
Woohoo! Sound support and Citizen Management Agent sound like great enhancements to me. I'm going to go dload the new version right now! |

I wanted to hear about freeciv as a game of its own.
Thanks for the info, I may give it try. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
