PostPosted: Sun Jan 24, 2010 5:00 pm    Post subject: Pro-Audio ebuild and source fixes Reply with quote

I'm doing a side project to find missing sources and fix ebuilds in the Pro-Audio overlay. It's a lot easier for me to do it myself on my own web host and invite maintainers to grab from my site at their leisure than post to the Pro-Audio thread and get confused later about where to find what I did. It's also probably a lot easier not to read such long sentence as the previous one. :P

If anything is amiss when using Pro-Audio, check my ebuild fix list before posting here that the ebuild isn't working: http://audiodef.com/projects.php?project_id=8 .

Admins, please don't merge this thread with Pro-Audio. It is a long thread and this one will simply get buried in it. I'm trying to make it easier for people to find things and this thread is for the purpose of missing sources and modified ebuilds ONLY.

EDIT: Renamed to "Pro-Audio ebuild and source fixes" for accuracy. 8)

EDIT: Edited URL above, as it has changed.

The SRC-URI for wsynth-dssi is no longer valid. Here's a fix!

http://audiodef.com/gentoo/proaudio/ebuilds/wsynth-dssi/wsynth-dssi-0.1.3.ebuild

The source was taken from http://packages.debian.org/lenny/wsynth-dssi and repackaged so portage could easily work with it without having to clutter up the ebuild.

The homepage and source URIs for whysynth have changed. Here's an updated ebuild.

http://audiodef.com/gentoo/proaudio/ebuilds/whysynth/whysynth-20090608.ebuild

Also, the latest version in the pro-audio overlay is from 2007. This fix also brings this things a little more up-to-date.

The new home page for whysynth is http://www.smbolton.com/whysynth.html

I wish all fixes were this simple and easy!

Hello,

Please contact the pro-audio team through the mailing list, so that someone can integrate all of your enthousiastic work into the pro-audio overlay ;)

Sure thing! I think I know who to contact, too. This thread might be redundant, but I did want an easy place for pro-audio users to find the fixes I've made easily in case it takes a while to get them into the overlay.

The kluppe ebuild has an invalid SRC_URI because the only version hosted by the project home page is 0.6.14. Here's an ebuild for that. The only thing I had to do was copy the 0.6.12 ebuild to 0.6.14.

Can you put up a working lmms-9999 ebuild? I've posted a patch against the broken proaudio one in the other thread that adds several new useflags too (I'm not sure if USE=lv2 is actually doing anything useful right now though).

I took a look at the ebuild, but I don't know enough about git at the moment. For now, put in a bug report to the overylay/ebuild maintainer, or post to the main pro-audio thread.

PostPosted: Thu Jan 28, 2010 8:56 pm    Post subject: zita-convolver updated ebuild Reply with quote

The writer of zita-convolver, required for aeolus-ym, doesn't have 1.0.0 up on his site any more, and 2.0.0 would not compile on my 64-bit machine because my CPU doesn't support x86_64 (uh... WUT!?). I started out trying to update both aeolus-ym and zita-convolver to use the 2.0.0 version, but when I ran into this problem, I decided to leave the fix to the programmer.

I found an rpm containing 1.0.0, so I repackaged it and hosted it. Here's the updated zita-convolver-1.0.0.ebuild:

http://audiodef.com/gentoo/proaudio/ebuilds/zita-convolver/zita-convolver-1.0.0.ebuild

zita-convolver's home page: http://www.kokkinizita.net/linuxaudio/downloads/ (no 1.0.0 here!).

Found the RPM at: http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/fedora/updates/10/ppc/zita-convolver-1.0.0-2.fc10.ppc64.html

PostPosted: Fri Jan 29, 2010 6:31 pm    Post subject: Updated ebuild for regex-posix-0.93.1 Reply with quote

regex-posix-0.93.1 complains about a missing include dir during emerge. This ebuild fixes that.

This ebuild is not part of pro-audio, but it is required by jack-tools, so I've created a fix for it.

http://audiodef.com/gentoo/ebuilds/

Official bug report: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302783

I'm sure there is a more elegant way to fix it within the code itself; however I am not enough of a programmer to do it easily. I leave that method to others.

PostPosted: Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:07 pm    Post subject: Updated ebuild and GCC fixes for Openmovieeditor Reply with quote

I couldn't get Open Movie Editor to install right out of the overlay, so I implemented the following fixes:

First, you might need more recent versions of gavl, gmerlin and gmerlin-avdecoder than are in the overlay.

Second, some of the source files needed <stdint.h> and <stdout.h> includes in order to work on GCC 4.3/4.4. So I fixed those and hosted the modified tarball. I'll certainly bring this to the attention of the code author when I get a chance.

This involves 4 new ebuilds, so I'm not filing an official bug report. Instead, when I get to it, I'll just add it to the contribution pile in the overlay (I think I have some kind of low-level access to it in CVS).

Check it out here for now: http://audiodef.com/gentoo/proaudio/ebuilds/openmovieeditor/

PostPosted: Sun Feb 07, 2010 4:37 am    Post subject: Updated sources and ebuild for libfreebob-1.0.11 Reply with quote

I couldn't compile libfreebob-1.0.11 on my system with gcc-4.4.2 (I had to switch to 4.3.4). Here is a fix to compile this version of libfreebob with gcc 4.4. I simply added the <stdio.h> and <stdint.h> includes in the files that complained about things like printf and type conversion. And yes, I tested it on my own machine. If it doesn't work for you, please let me know. If you fix it yourself, please post it here.

I changed ebuild file of rosegarden-9999 just to can compile it. It may contain some mistakes (for example, use-options after econf), but it compiles and it was my goal.

I posted about it on the pro-audio web-site:

Hello,

I have write access on the pro-audio overlay. I will take some time those days to fullfill all the requests of this thread and the other :
- update the ebuilds so that dead links point to audiodef's backup (thank you audiodef !)
- bump the new versions

I just sent a mail to the mailing list to try to wake up the team :)

You know, it's just cool to emerge something on a new Gentoo install from the overlay and see the source coming from your own server. 8)

Here's a fix for openbeatbox:

Here's a fix for jdelay.

Jdelay is no longer jdelay; it is now Jack Delay.

This fixes the SRC_URI that did not track the name change.

Ardour 2.8.11 is the latest stable build, so here's the ebuild for it:

http://audiodef.com/gentoo/proaudio/ebuilds/ardour/ardour-2.8.11.ebuild

I'm hosting a copy of the source as well, so that the ebuild can download it for you. Paul does not support Gentoo, so for installation using this ebuild, please don't pester him about it - pester me instead! 8)

1. I made gtk-engines a requirement because it would not compile for me without it.

2. I removed the lines that move the ardourvst binary to ardour2. If you enable vst, run ardourvst, the way Paul intended. If not, run ardour2, also the way Paul intended.

Again, don't pester Paul about this ebuild.

Even if it's the same version, my ebuild is probably slightly different because I removed the renaming the executable to ardour2 if vst was enabled. I also added the dependency I mentioned above. If the ladi one doesn't work, try mine.
