[edit] I realize that there were some other posts talking about this, but this is a little bit different....
Say I'm searching for problems with qt not emerging. So, I search for "qt emerge" and nothing shows up. Then search for "qt" and still nothing shows up. So, I created a post entitled, "qt not emerging." It ended up being a duplicate because my search for qt related stuff showed up nothing.
I thought maybe there would need to be an exact match (or at least include the search words in the title). So, now I tried searching for the post that I created. I searched for "qt not emerging." And nothing.
In order for anything about qt to show up I had to type in "qt*" with the wildcard, and even then it doesn't bring up my post until later on even though the title of the post matches my search query exactly. I also tried typing "qt AND emerge" and still nothing.
What am I doing wrong, or is there something wrong with the search?
For example, I searched for qt emerging problems before I posted my question about it and turned up nothing. How was I supposed to know that there were other posts discussing it if I can't find them?
Thanks,
