|

I want to use gnash for playing flash movies. so I've merged gnash.
but now it isn't playing any videos or animations.
when i visit youtube... the video place is black and it is not loading anything.
(but gnash is loaded there... when i make a right click in the black area, it pop ups the gnash menu)
what to do to make firefox and gnash working together?
thx a lot _________________ Who needs Windows and Gates in a world without walls and fences? |

i think currently there is no fully-good-working replacement for adobe-flash

I think swfdec-* packages are not very up-to-date.
I am using www-plugins/gnash-9999 which works fairly well for youtube. Compiling it with USE="gstreamer" allowed the sound to work too. |

thx for the tip.
but, perhaps a silly thing, where can i find the gnash-cvs overlay, described on the website from petersclan ?
layman -L doesn't display a gnash-cvs.
or is the actual gnash-0.8.6 in the official tree what you meant? |

hi I'm not shure but have you added Quote: | source /usr/local/portage/layman/make.conf | to /etc/make.conf ??
add it with Code: | echo "source /usr/local/portage/layman/make.conf" >> /etc/make.conf | and maybe a
Code: | emerge -va dev-util/subversion | gives you the gnash-overlay
hope this helps
I'm running flash-player within firefox and youtubevideos a.m.m are playing well
or just emerge www-plugins/adobe-flash _________________ Always look on the bright side of live. badu badubadubado |

I am not using the overlay from petersclan. I just grabbed the ebuild itself, and put it in my local overlay. |
