Witam wszystkich.

Planuje zainstalowac gentoo na kompie ktorego sercem jest Celeron D 3000Mhz (1.5 GB RAM). Jaka wersje gentoo wybrac; x86 czy amd64. Czy w_ogole da sie zainstalowac wersje amd64 na nim? Chcialbym osiagnac jak najlepsza wydajnosc.

w sumie wczesne pentium D nie były 64 bitowe jednak pobieżnie patrząc twój obsługuje.
Więc w sumie wsio rawnoj co wybierzesz, ale 1.5 GB ramu to lepiej 32bity wybrać

Ja zazwyczaj uzywam x86 pod procesor 32-bitowy, zas amd64 na 64-bitowym np na moim komputerze:

Linux SoBaN-PC 2.6.32-gentoo #1 SMP Fri Dec 4 17:50:33 Local time zone must be set--see zic m x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Zainstalowalem amd64 ;-). Chociaz rownie dobrze zachowywal sie pod 32-bitowa wersja, o ile dobrze pamietam livecd 64 bitowe na 32-bitowym procesorze nawet nie da sie odpalic. Wiec raczej bledu nie da sie popelnic.

Zobacz na gentoo-wiki safe cflags dla Twojego procesora, jak bedziesz mial rowniez flagi dla 64bitow, to mozesz meic amd64 lub sprawdz model na stronie intela i poszukaj 64-bitowosci.
