I'm trying to do a system update in the process of upgrading my MythTV installation. The system is upgrading to xorg-server 1.07, but I can;t get x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.2.5 to install. I've followed the tips here (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-750017.html#6084134), but can't seem to get it installed. Every time I try to emerge it, it dies (see below). Any tips as to what to look for to get this built?

Code:
# emerge -av xf86-input-evdev

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

[ebuild     U ] x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.2.5 [1.1.5-r2] USE="-debug" 0 kB

Total: 1 package (1 upgrade), Size of downloads: 0 kB

Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No] y

 * This profile is merely a convenience for people who require a more

Current stable is 2.3.1, why are you building old version?

Thanks for the help.

2.3.1 is masked for amd64 - 2.2.5 isn't. Should I unmask 2.3.1, and what else should I unmask to compliment it?

No... It's not masked... I think you need to --sync or if that doesn't work, change mirrors
