Hello,

I'm runnng Gentoo KDE. The X/KDE session is on VT7.

I'd like to have an HTPC frontend running from a new X session (say, VT8), on a different resolution (800x600), with the following features :

- play music
- play avi files wih subtitles
- play dvd
- show DVB TV from my DVB card

and possibly handle tv programs from xmltv or like.

LAST : I'm not a hacker, and i'd like an 'easy to configure' thing

Any good idea with the frontend i should use ?

Thanks, that is more or less the idea I had come up with.

Now, i'm just wondering how to open an X session in VT8 with a specific resolution (800x600). There does not seem to be arguments to 'startx' for this ...
