Hi, all
I'm a bit tired of my buggy 7200 and think about upgrading to something a little bit better. I have the opportunity to buy a 7600 with 160 MB ram dirt cheap, which suits me well. 604 cpu on an easily switchable daughtercard makes g3/g4 upgrades so much easier the day I can afford it and OF video.
Any caveats? Am I likely to run into any major problems? |

sure you can install gentoo on the powermac 7660!
You can find the livecd here and the install guide here.

Execpt the liveCD will not boot the 7600 (I have a 7600/132) you must fiddle around with BootX and the ramdisk.
Also the hard drive space at 2G is a little small if you don't increase it. 4G will work but +6G is what I'ld recomend (2 + 4) as you can have a large swap and keep all your distfiles. But you can kull the 7220 for that. _________________ I'm so small, I can fit under the door.
I was here yesterday, this is a recording. |
