How long would it take to compile packages such as GNOME, Firefox, OpenOffice.org... with an AMD Athlon 1.15 GHz and 512 MB RAM? _________________ 1-Crawl 2-Cnfg 3-ATF 4-Exit ? |

Firefox not that much, xulrunner however which is the rendering engine will tame many hours probably,
Openoffice surely will take more than one day on that hardware.
I have no idea about gnome, probably it could take more than one day as well, depending on the components you install, the USE flags you enable, etc. _________________ Gentoo Handbook |

About Openoffice, you can also use Openoffice-bin if you want too. _________________ Sysadmin of Funtoo-Québec.org

| I switched from Mandriva and i think there was lack of technical support with mandriva. Even i tried gentoo in VM and once i found myself comfortable i switched to it. |

When you want to test a new distro, it's always fun to test it inside a VM _________________ Sysadmin of Funtoo-Québec.org
