Here's mine. It's basic Gnome-2.2 with the Smokey Blue theme - I haven't had the box for long so I'm still experimenting. _________________ Ecchi nano wo ikenai to omoimasu! |

Hmm.. new month, a few changes to my desktop. Still using Xfce as my DE/wm, although quite a few other programs I use have changed..
Here's a busier shot running a few programs: irssi in a transparent Eterm, PAN, Epiphany (the web browser), ROX (behind Musik) and Musik 0.1.4 CVS.
I decided to mess around with my icons earlier and now I got the xfce4 panel using Noia icons. I also grabbed the icon set from http://art.gnome.org and converted most of the filetypes in ROX (the filemanager I use) to using them. A bit gaudy for me to use for too long, probably, but it's a change.
Also using the Fishing the Sky GTK2 theme that I picked up from good ol' art as well, along with the smallscreen Xfce theme. |

I use openbox with 8 virtual desktops, heavy on the Propaganda. Currently I'm obsessed with the purple end of the spectrum - it's easy on the eyes and nice looking.
I've posted shots of 4 of my screens:
http://www.psyber.com/~duane/screens/
Applications of note:
Openbox
Gkrellm2
Xchat
MozillaFirebird
Eterm
xmms
gamix

Wow, I'm impressed! Yep, I use quite a range of walls from games like that, the challenge is finding ones that aren't poorly compressed that will scale to 1600x1200 without looking terrible.
weasl.net has some pretty good walls which I frequently use as well. Your desktop looks great too! _________________ Ecchi nano wo ikenai to omoimasu! |

Here's a thought: Maybe the reason the current desktop environments are the way they are and why the Windows desktop has not change much in basic format since Windows 95 is that Microsoft actually did some UI research that shows what the majority of people naturally can work with.
Please stop the Anti-MS crap just for the sake of being anti microsoft. |
Here's a though: I happen to agree, every time there is a linux screenshot thread someone thinks it's really smart and funny to show Windows XP looking like linux. It's just tired and boring, I don't use Windows so I don't want or need to see it. It's not being anti-microsoft for the sake of it.
Besides, there are plenty of reasons to dislike microsoft as a company and it is really arrogant for you think that the person isn't anti-microsoft for a DAMNED good reason. It's like saying "Even though there are plently of reasons to dislike MS you are too stupid to actually understand your reasons for dis-liking them"

This thread is about screenshots. I enjoy looking at screenshots and seeing how people arange their desktops. If you want a flamewar, I'm sure you can easily jump into one on IM or IRC. |

Hey cool - that background is a photo of Cape Town. I also stay there. From where is the photo taken? It's kindof a funny angle. _________________ Sometimes I feel like Superman.

I really like your pink/baby blue color theme. And the wallpapers is really cute
A bit "girly" thou, but still very cute. Don't se those colors so often when it comes to themes and wallpapers. _________________ DnB is my religion, Jungle is my church. |

I wish to apologize for my earlier OT comments about being anti-MS. I did not wish to start a flame war. I am just tired of the anti-MS stuff. With that... 'nuff said on my part. I would post my desktop, but it is the default fluxbox. _________________ -----------------------------------------

Two screenshots of my kde-cvs desktop: here and here. (nothing fancy though )
- August 24 kde-cvs binaries from iamlarryboy (the 'g'-start button is awesome )
- Theme is Alloy
- Window decoration is Knifty
- The 'bubble g' in my background is taken from the Gentoo_bubble_dark wallpaper, found in the Gentoo wallpaper collection at breakmygentoo
- Xmms skin is Winamp_X_XMMS_1.01, found in Portage (X11-themes/xmms-themes-0.0.2)
