I upgraded to gnome 2.26 yesterday. I have a strange popping or clicking sound coming from my speakers whet I boot to Gnome Desktop. I don't have such problem when I boot to KDE (3.5.10).
I appreciate any help or support resources on this. _________________ You deserve free software! |

Check out your startup programs list, maybe you can find something there... |

Sorry I was not clear, I mean the gnome start-up applications. You can view them in system-->preference
I had a similar problem before as yours, and it was because something put pulseaudio into start-up applications... |

Thank you shallpion but unfortunately your solution didn't help me. I removed pulseaudio from start-up applications. I can hear startup sound now and I have my problem anyway. _________________ You deserve free software! |

I need to kill pulseaudio always after boot.
Code: | #ps -fu mike
mike 21565 14030 1 23:15 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --lo
mike 21567 21565 0 23:15 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --lo
#killall pulseaudio |

You might check all runlevels just to be sure it's not starting
rc-status -a
or check for pulseaudio being started in something else
Code: | grep -i pulseaudio /etc/conf.d/* /etc/init.d/* |

Hi Anon-E-moose,
Thank you for atention to my problem. Thanks to you I've found:
Code: | # grep -i pulseaudio /etc/conf.d/* /etc/init.d/*
/etc/init.d/esound:# to PulseAudio's esd wrapper |
