To be precise the channel in DTS containing the voice comes out with really really low volume, can barely hear the voices.
Been trying to find a solution or someone with a similar problem here on the forums or by googling but to no avail.
I've got Totem set to output in stereo to ALSA. I'm using the latest Totem and Gstreamer from the unstable amd64 repositories.
The sound card I use is the integrated Intel HD Audio chip on my ASUS P5B-E motherboard which uses the HDA Intel driver build in kernel.
This is what I get when I run an "emerge -pv gst-plugins-meta totem ffmpeg" (to show the USE flags for those packages).
Code: Select all
[ebuild R ] media-plugins/gst-plugins-meta-0.10-r3 USE="X a52 alsa dvd ffmpeg flac mad mpeg ogg vorbis -dvb -esd -lame -mythtv -oss -taglib -theora -xv" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] media-video/ffmpeg-0.5-r1 USE="3dnow 3dnowext X alsa encode hardcoded-tables mmx mmxext mp3 ssse3 vorbis zlib (-altivec) -amr -bindist -custom-cflags -debug -dirac -doc -faac -faad -gsm -ieee1394 -ipv6 -jpeg2k -network -oss -schroedinger -sdl -speex -test -theora -threads -v4l -v4l2 -vdpau -vhook -x264 -xvid" VIDEO_CARDS="-nvidia" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] media-video/totem-2.26.3 USE="python -bluetooth -debug -doc -galago -lirc -nautilus -nsplugin -tracker" 0 kB
Everything else I've tried to watch using Totem worked fine - mp3, AC3, as well as other channels in those same DTS streams which play perfectly (music, ambient sounds, etc). Same goes for sound in general on this system, I haven't had any issues. Everything pretty much worked right out of the box after getting the stuff emerged.
Would appreciate any assistance in solving this.
