Has anyone else gotten a chance to play this wonderful DotA clone?
I think it kicks ass, and I'm probably gonna stop playing anything else. I love DotA, and now there's a native linux client with builtin voice-chat.
How awesome is that?!

No, there is not.
One _can_ ofcourse play by oneself, but that's not the idea, and it would suck in all manner of imaginable ways |

I add me if you wish, same nick ingame, and maybe well get a game up some day (or even a gentoo clan) (Won't have time for much for playing this week unfortunately)
The little I can recall from savage is I didn't like it, but I don't recall why that was. Don't think I ever played S2. |

FYI, I'd recommend trying it out on your own at first, and then making sure you pick a game where you can select hero, so you get the one you've tried by yourself.
The consequence of just jumping in is usually lots of deaths and angry teammates |

I have been playing alot of DemiGod recently (shame it won't run in WINE) so I know kinda what to expect.
but yer I setup a pseudo single-player to get the idea - quite alot of hero's to choose from so will take a bit to get use to who matches my style
I prefer Demigod mind, although this is good and I will prob pick it up when it comes out _________________

Being a huge fan of DotA, I'm purchased Demigod when it came, so the idea could get a fresher engine. While I liked it, I like HoN more,
both because it's more DotA (Way way more complex imo) and because there's a *drum roll* linux client!
No more rebooting for gaming, yey. |

Well what I like from Demigod is the generals - ie you can control a few minions. I don't know (but doubt) that any heros in HoN have that.
from the couple of games I have played of HoN I do like it but I do prefer DemiGod atm (same style they just added some additional twists - being able to upgrade your citidel and spawn more creeps as you progress say)
we need a f.g.o clan \o/ _________________

Yeah, my favorite is Oak I think it's pretty cool too, maybe more of that will show up in HoN. I'm not sure exactly about which DotA heroes have been implemented yet, but there are "general-style" heroes in DotA.
Syllabear and I-forgot-his-name-but-he-summons-infernals have a single minon, and Furion can have a bunch of them (much like Oak).
f.g.o? |

Sweet, thanks mate. Downloading now.
I haven't ever really gotten into DotA but I have Demigod. I'll probably try to figure it out for a few hours then play online. Hope to see some of you guys in there. |
