Hi, I forgot the command to create the Desktop folder in kde-4.2.4. It was at the bottom of this guide http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/kde/kde4-guide.xml or a similar one. This did the trick.

Code:

cp /usr/share/apps/kio_desktop/directory.desktop /home/admin/Desktop/.desktop
