|
|
| So I have a pretty nasty problem with my mail server right now. I hit my quota the other day, due to neglecting a pretty strange problem. Monster.com sends me these pointless emails every day, and I haven't gotten around to tellign them to quit emailing me, so they've been piling up. Also another daily email from another place, together they've been filling my inbox pretty good. So finally a few weeks ago I highlighted all of them and hit the delete key, and assumed it was over and done with. Only to find out that KMail hadn't actually deleted them, it had only marked them as deleted and left them in the inbox. Now the only way I can tell to delete them is to go into my mail server's web mail system, and delete them all, ~15 at a time, and because theres probably 1000 of them all combined, it sucks. Is there a way to get these messages to get deleted in KMail for real, and not jsut marked deleted? |

i recently found that kmail's send-to-trash was actually a copy followed by a deletion of the old copy... if you've exceeded your quota, you might need another means of clearing your inbox...
is there anything in your trash that you could delete to free up some space? got webmail? _________________ goodbye fgo. it was nice knowing you. |

there's an option for "on delete, delete from: {local computer, server}" - make sure it's set to delete from server, not keep on server.
shouldn't have that problem if you use imap... _________________ iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAA

| Wow, I just realized how horribly unspecific this was. KMail connects with IMAP. When I delete them in KMail, they disappear as if deleted, but are still there. The "deleted" messages show up in Outlook Express, and the webmail...can only delete delete them through webmail though, 15 at a time. And there's like 1000. There's got to be a better way. |
