|
|
I have searched the forums, have read the FAQ's and the latest handbook. I have not been able to find anything pertaining to my issue.
Issue:
I load the LiveCD, choose the default gentoo kernel, everything loads fine, my X server starts fine. The log-in prompt tells me gentoo will log me in automatically in 10 seconds. It logs me in, but I have no root access. I cannot do much with out root access. Am I missing something? I was breaking my brains trying to load drivers using different commands and none of them would work, I then noticed I did not have root access.
I am running a Toshiba Laptop with Intel Centrino 2 P8600 @2.46Ghz - 4GB DDR2 800Mhz Ram.
My apologies if there is a pool filled with this exact issue.
Thank you in advanced for anyones help.

Alright, I am going to try the latest 2009-6-23 x86 Minimal Install CD. Hopefully I do not have too much of a hassle getting my internet to work. I would appreciate any other help. Thanks. |

GoLoGo,
To get a root shell on that 2008.0 CD open a terminal and do _________________ Regards,
